Terms of Service

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Excel SOS ("the Service", "we", "our"), available at excelsos.app. By accessing or using the Service, you ("the user") agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Service Description

Excel SOS is an AI-powered digital assistant designed to help professionals:

• Solve problems with Microsoft Excel formulas and functions
• Translate Excel formulas between different language versions (e.g. Italian/English)
• Analyse spreadsheet screenshots and suggest solutions
• Explain Excel concepts and features

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Responses generated by artificial intelligence are suggestions to support the user and do not constitute guaranteed professional advice.

User Accounts

Registration

To use the Service you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration and to keep it current.

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials confidential
• All activities carried out through your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account by writing to support@excelsos.app

Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.

Acceptable Use

By using the Service, you agree to:

• Use it only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws
• Not upload content that infringes third-party rights or contains others' personal data without authorisation
• Not share your account credentials with third parties
• Comply with the usage limits of your subscribed plan

Prohibited Activities

The following are expressly prohibited:

• Malicious formulas: requesting the creation or analysis of formulas, macros, or VBA scripts designed to damage systems, steal data, or carry out fraudulent activities
• Service abuse: sending unauthorised mass automated requests (scraping, bots)
• Reverse engineering: attempting to extract the underlying AI models, source code, or internal logic of the Service
• Security violations: seeking unauthorised access to Excel SOS's or third parties' systems, networks, or data
• Unlawful content: uploading screenshots or materials containing illegal, pornographic, defamatory content or content that infringes intellectual property rights
• Circumventing limits: artificially bypassing usage limits or anti-abuse measures

Excel SOS reserves the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these rules, including without notice.

Nature of AI Responses and Disclaimer

Responses provided by the Excel SOS AI assistant are automatic suggestions generated by AI models and do not constitute:

• Professional advice of any kind
• A guarantee of accuracy or completeness
• A substitute for qualified human judgement

Before applying suggested formulas or solutions in production environments or on important data, we recommend verifying their correctness. Excel SOS is not liable for data loss, incorrect results, or damages arising from applying AI responses without adequate verification.

Plans, Subscriptions, and Payments

Paid Plans

Some advanced features are available through paid subscriptions. Prices and conditions are shown on the pricing page at excelsos.app.

Billing

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled in advance. Payments are processed by certified payment providers.

Refunds

Refund requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact support@excelsos.app within 14 days of purchase.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Intellectual Property

Excel SOS Content

The Service, logo, design, source code, and all original content of Excel SOS are the exclusive property of Excel SOS and are protected by copyright, trademark, and applicable intellectual property laws.

User Content

You retain all rights to the content you upload or submit to the Service (questions, screenshots, formulas). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

We do not use your content to train AI models without your explicit consent.

Third-Party Trademarks

Microsoft, Excel, and other trademarks mentioned in the Service belong to their respective owners. Excel SOS is not affiliated with or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law:

• Excel SOS does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the Service
• Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law (e.g. fraud or gross negligence).

Account Suspension and Closure

We reserve the right to suspend or close your account in the event of:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or abusive behaviour
• Non-payment of subscriptions

Upon account closure, you may request an export of your data within 30 days, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the Service with at least 14 days' advance notice. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute arising from the use of the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile (where consumer protection law applies) or the court of [Excel SOS registered office], unless otherwise agreed between the parties.
